A BIT ABOUT US AND OUR DREAMS
Here at Better Together, we want to be a catalyst for positive change. Better Together International was created to go beyond supporting the basic needs of the children and to lay a foundation for them to thrive as they grow.
Our main passion project currently is supporting the Life Christian Orphanage in Haiti. We ensure the children receive a full, healthy diet, a thorough education and as much support and love possible to enrich their lives!
Our Founders, Jonathan and Lisi Steers, began their relationship with LCO in 2013. While Jonathan was visiting friends in Haiti and was introduced to Luxon Boursiquot, the Orphanage Director. Luxon started LCO immediately after the heartbreaking earthquake in 2010 when many of the children's parents were killed. Jonathan immediately fell in love with the children and saw the immense needs of the orphanage. In the years since, the Steers family has assisted with various needs of the children while working to ensure the children had their basic needs met.
The current goals of Better Together are to:
Acquire land to build a new school, housing, and training center for the children to have a safe environment to play, learn and grow. Their current building is sub-par, too small, in a dangerous location and the children deserve much better.
Ensure each child receives a top-notch education and can be schooled in a trade to ensure self-sufficient employment. Our goal is 100% employment for every graduate of LCO as they reach adulthood.
